emerges from data regarding the Gross Domestic Product (PIL),
which represents 20.2% of the national value and is well above the
Italian average at per capita level. The number of enterprises in
Lombardia is around 800,000 (approx. 15.6% of those operating on
the national territory). The unemployment rate is around 3.3%, much
lower than the national 6.8%. Lombardia’s industrial vocation
emerges from data on workers employed in the sector, which represents
36.2% of economic activities.
